Human resource management is the heart of the enterprise's Management and administration. It is playing a more and more important role in the modern enterprises. In human resource management, the performance managing is the key. While in the performance managing, the performance appraisal is the most important which plays a decisive role in realizing the goal of the business strategy.Now more and more enterprises know the importance of the performance appraisal and start to put it into practice. But it has little effect because the managers misunderstand it and they don't know how to operate it. That is to say, in our country the performance appraisal is still in a low level. So it is urgent to study the performance appraisal in enterprises.This thesis carried out positive facts research by taking a shareholding company (named Company A). It tried to find out a new way for enterprises to jump out the strange circle "to appraisal for appraisal" by designing the performance appraisal system of Company A. The new way would help the managers to understand the performance appraisal better. It would also help to realize "low cost, easy operation, easily accepting and high efficiency " of the performance appraisal.At first the thesis states the background of choosing the topic and the meaning of studying it. Then it summarized the related domestic and international articles. Next it introduced briefly the development of the performance appraisal and analyzed the basic principles and methods of the performance appraisal. On the basis of above, the thesis analyzed the present condition of the performance appraisal system for Company A, and designed a new performance appraisal system for Company A. In order to run the new performance appraisal system efficiently as the writer expects, the thesis also put forward some countermeasures against the possible risk. At last the thesis made a reasonable analysis about the new performance appraisal system and draw a conclusion.
