E-innovation, as a new paradigm of innovation, is becoming to be an important mean for Chinese companies to gain competitive advantages in the new century as it can speed up innovation in a global sense via information and communication technologies (ICT).Focusing on influencing factors of E-innovation performance, this paper tries to explore ways to improve the performance of E-innovation projcts in China by controlling key influencing factors. The whole paper is divided into three parts: theoretical discussion, empirical study and conclusion.In the part of theoretical discussion, evolvement and development trend of technological innovation research is reviewed, which highlights the fact that E-innovation is a very important new research field. Based on the research of key success factors in product innovation and E-innovation before, and the practice of E-innovation in China, the author forms main idea of the whole paper and puts forward the corresponding hypothesis and conceptual model.In the second part, by questionnaire investigation among more than 20 companies with experiences of E-innovation and quantitative analysis of the results, the author finds 8 factors that influence E-innovation performance in China in terms of strategy, organization, resources and environment. Then further validation of the relationship between those factors and the performance of E-innovation is given, in order to find out the key influencing factors and the model, which shows the relationship between the influencing factors and e-innovation performance. The research can be divided into two stages: the first stage is expert visiting and literature reading, trying to find out ways to measure the performance of E-innovation and some influencing factors. The second stage is questionnaire investigation in companies with experience of E-innovation and results analysis.In the last part, the author makes the explanation of the research results and provides advices on how to improve E-innovation performance in China.
