The Engineering Technology Institute of the Southwest Branch of SINOPEC(abbreviation: Engineering Technology Institute) that was built at the beginning of 2005 by uniting the engineers of the Southwest Bureau and joint-stock company is a institute engaged in natural gas exploration and exploitation engineering design and research along with the implementation of science and technology innovation strategy of SINOPEC. The exploitation and utilization of natural gas play a very important role under the background of international oil price rapid rise up and national energy security and environmental protection policy. Therefore, the natural gas exploration and exploitation in Sichuan basin was the No.1 project in SINOPEC group. However, Engineering design and technology progress play a primary role in natural gas exploration. Engineering Technology Institute faces good opportunity and challenge, because it was newly built and had no development strategy plan.
