Shanghai Urban Spatial Structure And The Relationship Of The Traffic Demand And Its Mechanism

The study on the relationship between urban spatial structure and traffic needs has great significance for readjusting urban spatial structure and solving traffic problems.This paper wants to find out the relationship between urban spatial structure and traffic need by studying the change of urban spatial structure and traffic need in Shanghai, which can help us find the mechanism of the relationship.Chapter 1 expounds the significance of the study on the relationship between urban spatial structure and traffic needs. It summarizes study progress in relevant field.Chapter 2 studies the changes of urban spatial structure in Shanghai by taking population spatial structure and industry spatial structure. Meanwhile it summarizes the changes of urban traffic in Shanghai.Chapter 3 researches into the mutual influence between urban spatial structure and traffic needs in Shanghai on the basis of the study on the relationship between urban spatial structure and traffic needs.Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 are the most important parts of this paper.Chapter 4 researches into the influence of the jobs-housing balance on urban traffic needs. It points out the changes of industry location and tertiary-industry location and it's influence on traffic needs. This chapter also researches into the relationship between commerce spatial structure and spatial structure of public infrastructure.Chapter 5 points out that the relationship between urban spatial structure and traffic needs is the result of reciprocity between location choice, differential rent, the city's infrastructure construction and city planning. And it analyzes the mechanism of the reciprocity.
