Coiler is an important equipment of cold strip rolling line, whose purpose is to collectthe cold rolled strip after having been rolled, convenient for storage and transportation.Carrousel coiler is one of the world's most advanced cold rolled strip coiling device, as akind of rotary double drum winder, with compact structure, high working efficiencybecome the preferred in production line of cold rolling mill. The device has been widelyused in foreign countries. In recent years, more and more domestic steel mills have begunto use this coiler. On the one hand it shows its great development potential, on the otherhand also shows that it can create greater economic benefits for the enterprise.The driving system of Carrousel coiler is very complex, presented as the long drivingshaft, multiple transmission series, complex structure. Japan and Germany were the first tomaster this technique. Previously this kind of equipment in domestic is imported fromabroad. With the development of our design capability and manufacturing capacity, Ourcountry has been able to produce this kind of equipment. There is still a long way to go toget a thorough theoretical research. Based on available data, this paper uses Solidworks,3-D drawing software, to get the Three-dimensional model of Carrousel coiler, and detailsthe functions of each component, which is great help for the localization of importedequipment.When replacing the reel, it needs to open the revolution gearbox, resulting in a seriesof complex, heavy operations wasting a lot of time. The entire production line stopsworking, greatly reducing the efficiency of the device. From the structure design, thispaper proposes a fast changing reel technology, the rapid replacementable device designedto carrousel's reels. It can greatly reduce the time required to replace the reel, but alsocreate more economic benefits for enterprises.Reel radial pressure calculation is to determine the size of hydraulic cylinder, somany scholars have done research on analytic method, however how to make thecalculation result and the actual situation closer still need further research. This articleuses the finite element analysis software Abaqus simulating the process of strip coiling.Established the elastic and plastic model, to extract the radial pressure. And make a quantitative research how the pressure changes when the reel diameter reduction.Under the circumstances of lacking relevant knowledge and data, this paper createdthe mechanics models and solved the basic design problem about the main parameters forCarrousel coiler from theory. All the work of changing reel, changing from the radial toaxial, is a creativity. All the work of replacing reel, changed from the radial to axial, is acreativity. The application of the results of such equipment will change our situation oflong-term dependence on foreign technology, but also help to improve the competitivenessof the domestic steel industry.
