In recent years, with the growing popularity of digital printing and promotionof printed products' quality, the role and importance of printing standardizationbecome prominent, printing companies urgently need to implement a standardizedprogram to normalize their own production processes, to enhance and ensure theprinting quality. For printers, the implementation of printing standardization helpsthe printing business to simplify workflow, improve work efficiency and printingquality; For print buyers, they can effectively evaluate the product quality of theprint suppliers, and manage the supply chain. Thus, the study on approach toprinting standardization realization methods based on offset lithography printingstandard ISO12647-2is necessary.Based on the analysis of offset lithography printing standard ISO12647-2andthe principle of two representative standardized method, this paper designes twocomplete industrial application testing solutions according to the respectivecharacteristics of two standardized method, and implements them.Through theanalysis of test results, this paper evaluates the two processes to achieve theprinting standardization based on ISO12647-2,and summarises the advantages oftwo ways. The whole experiment results show that the two process methods both can berealized the printing standardization based on the ISO12647-2. According to theimage replication,GATF technology is suitable for printing and copying the imageswith bright color, less grey area or less demand to neutral grey, more gradation inshadow area, whereas G7process has more advantage in printing the traditionalChinese painting, images with more gradation in highlight and middle tone, orother large gray area. The comparative study on printing quality process control methods of theGATF technology based on density and G7technology based on chromaticitywhich are the most widely used, can be beneficial to printing companies tochoose their own control methods to achieve standardization, and enhance theoverall level.
