It's hard to realize the standardization and streamlined production of the European&American style solid wood chair parts due to their multiple model&carve, complicated bladeand mould. The medium-sized and small enterprises which involve in the manufacturing oftenproduce the parts according to experience and template without any drawing, and this causesproblems like frequently adjustment of machines and mould, longer processing cycle, uncertainproduction plan, etc. These problems influence the efficiency, quality, and the cost controlinteractively.This essay that focuses on the European and American solid wood chair, in guidance ofindustrial engineering research and based on human engineering and targeting at groupingtechnique and standardization emphasizes the procedure of European and American type solidwood chair to increase the production efficiency.It takes the two selected typical furniture enterprise: Patriarch-based managemententerprise A&Modern management enterprise B as studying case, and six styles chair from thetwo as object of study. Recognition of problems and advice on improvement base on theresearch of the thickness, length and size, process flow, workshop flow path and equipment load,etc, help the increase of production efficiency and decrease of waste.Based on empirical analysis of Patriarch-base management enterprise A, we adoptedmethod of multiplicity and advanced approach method to optimize the parts' thickness, lengthand size and make the ratio of number and type of thickness size to be115:6from115:9, theratio of parts number and type of length size to be115:10from115:15. Via adopting processanalysis, the delivery distance decreases to517meters from1234meters, the decreased ratio tobe58.1%; the delivery time decreases to57.8minutes from107.8minutes, the decreased ratioto be46.43%; Via adopting equipment loading rate calculation method verified the overloadingoperation of double ended milling machine and hawk machine of enterprise A. Meanwhile,according to manufacturing factor adjustment lower down the loading ratio of double endedmilling machines to be72%from148%, the loading rate to be84%from105%of the hawkmachine.Via empirical analysis of Modern management enterprise B, we got the result that the ratioof parts number and thickness size type to be100:3, the ratio of parts number and length sizetype to be20:1, the level of parts standardization much higher that that of Enterprise A. We alsogot the delivery distance to be699meters, delivery time to be75minutes, which shorter thanthat of enterprise A; and the average equipment loading ratio to be46%. After the adjustment ofthe production plan the output increased to200types260,000sets from200types200,000, and30%on the ratio.According to the analysis and improvement on the production date, it provides way andmethod to the similar enterprise, and hope the improvement measures will be adopted in the exact manufacturing.
