Short-leg shear wall is a new type system to resist laterl load acted on buildings,which springing up in China in the recent years. It is widely used in the middle or high-rise buildings,however,there are no complete theories avaiable to guide the design of this type due to the lack of research on it.Therefore,the exigent problems to resolve in the design of it are complete re of the mechanichal behavious,failure patterns.Based on computer simulation theory and finite element analysis method,the static experiment in simulation test was done on T-shaped one-story and high-rise system to resist lateral load of short-leg shear wall.In simulation analysis,a spatial block unit that has eight nodes and 24 degrees of freedom and the integerate model of steel bar smear the concrete,composes finite element model,and spatial non-linear finite element analysis method is adopted to calculate to reveal the basic mechanical property of short-leg shear wall.In static test,T-shaped speciments were respectively divided into four groups according to sectional deepth to thickness ratio,concrete strength grades,couple beams spain to deepth ratio,ratio of axial compressive force to axial compressive ultimate capacity of section.How these factors affect the load-carrying and deformation of short-leg shear wall is anlysis shows that the crack moment and ultimate moment are heaved,and the deformation capacity curve firstly rises then goes down with the increasement of the sectional deepth to thickness ratio.The load-carrying and deformation capacity is relatively high when the sectional deepth to thickness ratio is 6.5 or so.The sectional stress distribution is deeply and detailedly reseached.The result shows that the normal stress distributton is according to cubic curve and shear stress of the web plate is antisymmetric.The experiment of short-leg shear wall subject to lateral load is implemented. Using FEA program ANSYS,the elastic-plastic analysis is done on different short-lag shear wall by changing the sectional deepth to thickness ratio,bulidings stories,couple beams spain to deepth ratio,ratio of axial compressive force to axial compressive ultimate capacity of section.Load-displacement curve of structure is analysed subject to static load.The mechanical performance of the short-leg shear wall structure is researched and the failing process of it is described by the load-displancement curve of the top,moreover,some suggestions are prensented for the design of short-leg shear wall structure.
