Handheld terminal has been developed rapidly with the close integration of communication technology and electronics. Especially in the power marketing area, the demand for a significant increase in handheld terminal for it is better than paper card meter reading. Now, our country is building smart grid and put forward higher requirements for handheld terminal. With the communication technology used in handheld terminal, it enhances the function of handheld terminal, increase the data transfer rate, improves power user satisfaction.Based on the scheme of PXA310 and WINCE6.0, this article designs the GPRS module, electric infrared module, RS485 module and RFID module of smart handheld terminal used in the advanced metering structure (AMI) system in the power marketing. And I study the communication security of handheld terminal.Firstly, this paper introduces the model, features and transplantation of WinCE operating system and the development process of smart handheld devices. On this basis, the communication system design of hardware and software of smart handheld terminal for power marketing has been proposed which through the study of four communication module and the technical requirements of smart power. In the design of hardware, the PXA310 is core and RFID, GPRS, electric infrared, RS485 external circuit as the basis for smart handheld. They provide a hardware platform. In software design, the operating system kernel of handheld terminal is introduced, and it also introduces the hardware driver development of the four communication modules, focusing on the model, interrupt handling, serial-driven writing, RFID-driven writing, and BSP steps to add drivers of driver and so on. Next, the application program of communication module is introduced. The communication protocol in the communication design of applications follows DL/T645-2007 "multi-energy meter communication protocol". Finally, I study the communication security of handheld terminal, and the data encryption algorithm-3DES algorithm is described in detail.
