Expressway maintenance or overhaul is of one of the main problems which the expressway of our country completed early have to be facing at this stage. To avoid the inconvenience which construction to normal vehicle traffic, the "while opening, while working"construction type often be adopted. However, reducing of the number of lanes and the changing lanes frequently make the traffic environment of the work zone be very complex. It is valuable to research what traffic control measures can be used in work zone to ensure the efficiency of traffic and improve the safety.VISSIM traffic simulation experiment is the primary research means of thesis, and the speed control and traffic signs layout in the expressway construction work zone are the main contents of thesis.First, research the forms of the two-way four-lane Expressway construction work zone and analyze their applicability, considering the actual, select the "one-way closed construction work zone" as the aim of study. Then completed the data survey and made an analysis while doing an actual project. On this basis, a detailed analysis from the traffic volume, traffic composition, speed distribution and time headway distribution four aspects of the work zone traffic flow characteristics was made to establish a data base for establishing VISSIM traffic simulation model.Second, the analysis of merging and changing lane, following, queuing etc. three types of traffic running status and their relationship each other provides a theoretical basis for the establishment of VISSIM traffic simulation model. By learning the advanced traffic flow merging and control theory from the foreign and combining with the research work of work zone in our country, carry out related research work from the speed control and traffic sign layout program two aspects.Then, by studing the basic principles and application range of VISSIM, confirmed that it is feasible using VISSIM study the construction work zone. And then established a traffic simulation model, and according to the road conditions, the traffic flow parameters and traffic running status, setted the model parameters and rules. On this basis, to make the model better fit with the actual, modify the related parameters by use of the simulated annealing algorithm.Finally, based on the VISSIM traffic simulation platform, use the method of combining the factor correction and the simulation calculate the actual capacity of work zone, and then derive the normal section of the expressway speed limit control standards. And then through the simulation again and again, make the comprehensive evaluation of test results with multiple levels-gray relational methods, to get the bottleneck and construction section speed limit control standards. On this basis, the minimum distance of traffic signs laid were researched, and studied the traffic layout program from the speed limit signs and other traffic safety signs two espects, using the comprehensive evaluation of test results with multiple levels-gray relational methods to optimize traffic control program.
