The Pearl River delta district is nationally famous for its rapid development and great progress in industrialization. Its impact on urban construction has aroused much attention. Based on the features of the industrialization in the delta, Guangdong Government has put forward a policy of"transforms on worn-out towns, factory and villages."Nowadays, for this policy, much achievement has been made in such cities as Foshan, Guangzhou and etc, while some other smaller cities as Sihui are still faced with the urgent need for transformation. In particular, the transforms of worn-out villages in medium and small cities, has direct impact on the interests of citizens. Therefore, under the rapid industrialization background, research on the transforms of medium and small cities has great practical significance.Through analysis on case studies in Guangzhou, the author, drawing on the development model and theory of foreign industrial cities, puts forward several influence patterns and factors on transforms of worn-out villages from rapid industrialization, as well as the feasibility and limitations of rapid industrialization on Sihui's transforms of worn-out villages. The paper takes Sihui city as the research subject. Based on the field study on the status quo of Sihui's regeneration, the author raises some problems arising in the field study. With help from relevant theories, the paper has brought forward some design principles and processes, aimed at different geographic regions, for worn-out villages'regeneration. By means of on-the-spot survey, interviewing, questionnaires and etc, the author has gained some knowledge on Sihui's traditional and social culture as well as industrialization's impact on culture. Problems in the process of transforms of worn-out villages in Sihui are discussed. With theoretical support, the author puts forward some suggestions on villages'transforms in Sihui. As rapid industrialization has great influence on the environment in the worn-out villages, to improve the living environment has grown to a key element during village transforms. With the field study findings, the author discovers some universal problems, and provides some feasible and reasonable solutions for village transforms, so as to keep in harmony with the environment. The paper has done research on current situations of Sihui's regeneration, cultural upgrading and environment. The transform models and designs, raised by the author, will function as a reference for cities in Pearl River delta concerning the village transforms of under the background of rapid industrialization. They also, to some extent, push forward the theory upgrading of village transforms in Pearl River delta.
