Urbanization is the road to modernization in China,is a powerful support to promote the coordinated development of cities.Whether it is the flagging support to carry out the transformation of passenger bus lines,or the form of heavyweight documents required to deploy the implementation of the new urbanization of smallmedium cities as an important carrier can not be separated from the urban transport.Reasonable arrangement and allocation of bus network resources in small-medium cities,to improve the efficiency of small-medium city bus network operation has become the focus of research in the field of transportation planning.In this context,this research systematically analyzes and studies the efficiency of bus network operation in small-medium cities.Firstly,we define and classify smallmedium cities,analyze the characteristics of bus routes and bus passenger flow in small-medium cities based on research data,introduce the sources of bus passenger flow in small-medium cities and construct a bus passenger flow prediction model.Secondly,the selection of evaluation indicators and common comprehensive evaluation methods for bus line networks are studied and explored in small-medium cities in Hebei Province.Comparing the common comprehensive evaluation methods,the evaluation indexes of the model are selected from three aspects: line network performance,bus infrastructure level and bus line network operation,and the calculation formula and threshold value of each evaluation index are proposed.To summarize the current status of research,the structural equation model is used to screen out the core evaluation indicators applicable to the optimization of bus network efficiency level in small-medium cities,and to construct the evaluation index system of bus network efficiency level.The basic data of bus network evaluation indexes were obtained for calculation,and a database containing GIS data and bus network data was established.Arc GIS software was used to visualize and analyze some of the evaluation indexes to enhance the accuracy of the data.Finally,the bus line network in Dingzhou City,Hebei Province,is used as an example to analyze the current situation of its bus line network development and predict the bus passenger flow by using Elman neural network model.The corresponding data of evaluation indexes were obtained for calculation,and the data envelopment analysis method was used to make a comprehensive evaluation of the efficiency level of the bus line network,and SPSS software was used to calculate the comprehensive evaluation data.The results show that: 12 lines of bus routes 2,6,8 and urban-rural buses in the urban area of Dingzhou City have redundant inputs and insufficient outputs,wasting financial resources and traffic resources,while the rest of the lines meet the current travel demand of residents.Through the evaluation and study of 7 external shortdistance passenger bus lines in Dingzhou City,it is found that 3 lines have no bus stops along the route,and the remaining 4 bus lines have bus stops but have uneven distribution problems.Based on the evaluation results of data envelopment analysis method and Arc GIS optimization analysis results,a detailed analysis of the bus line network in Dingzhou City is conducted,the current problems of the bus line network in Dingzhou City are summarized and optimized,and the development strategy and improvement measures of the bus line network in Dingzhou City are proposed.The research results can provide reference for the bus development and urban and rural planning in Dingzhou City,and also provide new ideas for the evaluation of bus network efficiency in small-medium cities.
