As an important fundamental construction in China, the transmission and distribution project take charge in economic development and electric demand. In the recent years, the Chinese government formulated a series of laws and regulations to encourage the development of the rural economic, and thus the gap between the city and rural area is reducing. Also this aims the transmission and distribution project to a quick development, whereas the risky incidents occurred in the construction phase, and this considerately affect the economic effectiveness of the whole the transmission and distribution project. The transmission and distribution project, as an important part of the power grid project, affect the whole profit of the power grid project in a large part. The research on risk management of the power transmission and distribution project will help to enhance the economic efficiency. This dissertation firstly deeply studies the theory of risk management. It elaborates related theoretical knowledge of risk management of construction projects. Based on the characteristics of the power transmission and distribution project, the sources and the general law of the risk management of the power transmission and distribution project was pursued, and the possible risks of the process of the building at each stage was analyzed, and the prevention measures was discussed for the possible risks. The paper studies the transmission and distribution project, and this conducts an empirical analysis. This paper aims to give a fundamental framework and measure of risk management of the power transmission and distribution project to manager.
