Interfaces exist generally in the urban rail transit projects. Interface management is a major subject in the project management, not only making a great impact on quality, safety, time and investment, but also consuming a large number of management resources involved in the process of construction. At present, Interface management in the urban rail transit is lack of comprehensive experience summary, refined theory and systematic analysis. This thesis is approach to some issues of interface management. The purpose is to provide management ideas and solutions of practical problems especially for any owner .The main works are as follows:1,The definitions of the interface and interface management are cleared, the interfaces how to exist are analyzed ,classification and characteristics of the interfaces are introduced, the meaning and purpose of interface management are clarified.2,Technical interfaces between any two subsystems in the urban rail transit projects are summed up, and the principles and functions of each subsystem are also introduced.3,From five different organizational structures of 5 Metro lines in Shenzhen city, the management interfaces among the participators are respectively analyzed, and the optimization proposal how to plan the organizational structures of the participators are provided.4,After analyzing the existing interface disagreements in the management interfaces between the departments in organizational structure of an owner, the dynamic organizational structure method is innovatively proposed.5,During the construction of the project of The Shenzhen Metro Line 3, Interface conflicts which emerged in four stages of the functional requirements,design,project schedule and construction are statisticed and analyzed. The reasons and the distribution are also put forward. The conclusion that most of the technical interface problems appear in the first three stages is drew. 6,About interface management in the requirements analysis phase, the management solutions for the operators to early participate and of optimizing the functional requirements are proposed.7,As for interface management in the design phase, this thesis proposes two management solutions, one is that early selecting equipment, later applying the so-called "inside out" design method, the other is promoting modular design.8,In the aspect of interface management in the project schedule stage, this thesis proposes two solutions, one is that setting the transfer conditions to solve space interface incompatibilities, the other is setting the crucial node schedule to break time interface conflicts.9,In the aspect of interface management in the construction phase, 3 conference systems(tests system,on-site coordination system,linkage system of the parties) and3 documents(interface management outlines,interface management rules,interface specifications) are suggested to solve the interface problems .10,Both the project management practices and the experience of interface management in the process of construction is summed up.
