With the continous evolvement of electric power system communication technology, demands of power system automation become more and more urgent. The monitoring of station layer, as an essential part of the digital substation, required to meet the IEC61850 standard, and combine with development status of communication, to solve the communication interface and protocol problem between bay layer and substation layer, and achieve realtime monitoring and seamless communication in substation.To monitor digital substation according to IEC61850, is acturally related to the collection of substation data such as analog, switching capacity etc. and send these data to HMI(hunman machine interface) of monitoring system. Though in-depth understanding of system architecture of digital substation layer, proposed the mind that make use of OPC technology and configuration technology, and combine with MMS protocol stack, and layered realized the monitoring of substation. This paper gives the specific design which has following advantages:(1)implementation of realtime and reliable monitoring of digital substation. (2) Follows the IEC61850 protocol,--the united and onlu international standard, the system is univeersal.(3)Hierarchical distributed design, optical switched ethernet architecture, improves the overall system synergy. (4) Use the OPC technology, to enhance monitoring system interface compatibility.In this thesis, chapter 1 discribes the digital substation automation system, discuss development status and problems of digital substation, and propose the establishment of digital substation and research on substation monitoring system in line with IEC61850. chapter 2 outlines the definition of intelligent substation in IEC61850, and introduce the MMS and OPC technologys, and develop the basic component and network architecture of station monitoring system according to IEC61850.In this chapter, the overall design of the monitoring system is proposed combine with the configuration software used in network strcture.Chapter 3 discusses the system structure and analysis design function requirement. Describe the specific solutions and the implementation process of digital substation monitoring system, and make a detailed analysis of the key technology in implementation.chapter 4 gives the testing program for fuction testing, and test the key technology in substation, the result show that the target meets the requirements. The last chapter is summary of the whole paper.
