The Research On The Relationship Of The Colleges Organizational Climate, The Mental Health And The Implicit Self-esteem Of The University Students

The conception of the "colleges and universities organizational climate" is that, according to Professor Zheng Lijun(2009),it is the product of the university itself and the students in this certain school, including the procedure that the students try to adapt to the campus climate and the management of their university or college, this product is a stable characteristic of this certain school which is distinguishable from other universities or colleges. The self-esteem contain two aspects, explicit self-esteem and implicit self-esteem, this study only focus on the implicit self-esteem, which is defined as a unconscious attitude or evaluation of an individual after long-time accumulation of one's own self-attitude, and this attitude is always positive for individual. This study uses questionnaires and experiments to investigate the relationship of the "colleges and universities organizational climate", the mental health and the implicit self-esteem aiming to contribute for the construction of the colleges and the universities and improving the level of the mental health of the university students with theoretical and realistic support.This study involves 1336 university students from 8 universities all over China into the questionnaires researches, using the "colleges and universities organizational climate" questionnaire and the Symptom Checklist 90 (SCL-90). and then we select 73 among these 1336 students to do the following Implicit Association Test (IAT). The results of this study shows as followings:(1) There was a significant difference of the "colleges and universities organizational climate" in different universities, and the scores are higher in the national key universities than the ordinary universities. There was a significant difference of the "colleges and universities organizational climate" in different grades, and the scores of the freshmen and the seniors are higher than the sophomores and the juniors. There was a significant difference of the "colleges and universities organizational climate" in the majors, genders, only one child or not in the same family and the hometown of the students.(2) There was a significant difference of the mental health of the students, and the mental health of the students in the national key universities is better than the students of the ordinary universities. The "colleges and universities organizational climate" is a good predictor of the mental health, and the main factors are interpersonal climate. environment, the management climate and the support from teachers.(3) The students tend to match the positive adjectives to themselves than the negative ones. There was a significant correlation between the colleges and universities organizational climate and the implicit self-esteem, the higher the scores of the colleges and universities organizational climate, the better the implicit self-esteem. There was a significant difference of the implicit self-esteem in different university, the scores are higher in the national key universities then the ordinary universities.(4) The "colleges and universities organizational climate" is a good predictor of the implicit self-esteem, and the main factors are interpersonal climate, students' moral quality, the management climate and the support from teachers. There was a significant correlation between the implicit self-esteem and the mental health of the university students. The higher the implicit self-esteem is. the better the mental health. The implicit self-esteem is a good predictor of the mental health.(5) There was a significant correlation of the colleges and universities organizational climate, the implicit self-esteem and the mental health. The better the colleges and universities organizational climate is, the better the mental health of the students as well as the implicit self-esteem.
