After entering 21st century, the country and the society attaches unprecedented importance to the educational development. Postgraduate education as the dispensable part in the higher education is paid much attention by more and more people. Postgraduate education in Normal University started late in our country. Although it has got some good results, it still has some shortages. This class topic is to do research on professional theory curriculum of musicology postgraduates in Normal University. Among them, the professional theory curriculums are not limited by the research direction, which are opened for all the musicology post graduate students. It also takes seven normal universities as the research objects. They are such as follows:Dongbei Normal University, Beijing Normal University, Hebei Normal University, Huazhong Normal University, Fujian Normal University, Sichuan Teachers' University, Xinjiang Normal University.This article is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is to introduce the producing and development process of musicology and the professional theory curriculum of musicology postgraduates in Normal Universities. The second chapter is to compare, analyze and do investigating research about the professional theory curriculum of musicology postgraduates in these seven Normal Universities and find some existing problems such as: not attaching importance to musical education courses and practicing part in teaching, being lack of faculty of humanities courses and locality musical culture courses and etc; the third chapter is to pick up the following suggestions with facing the recent condition and integrating the musical education professional theory and the relevant literate data. These suggestions are as follows:First, build up the professional theory curriculum value of student being standard; second, strengthen aesthetic education in professional theory courses; Third, pay much attention to humanities quality education of postgraduates, emphasize the normal education of postgraduates and advocate the innovation of their teaching practices.
