The research focuses on the content of the localized web page of Chinese enterprises. The paper is dependent upon practical investigations. A corpus is built up on an investigation of websites of 24 Chinese enterprises on the list of China Top 500 and sites of 26 companies of Fortune Global 500; next a specific questionnaire is completed by 30 overseas students from English-speaking countries; finally, an interview is conducted with the help of some translators from three famous MLVs (multiple language vendors) in China.Within a multi-dimensioned theoretical framework, the paper approaches localized web page translation, sequentially discussing the concept of localization, the characteristics of a web page, the differences between web localization and traditional translation, and the needs of online visitors. Then a major problem is found existing on most of the pages of Chinese enterprises: word-for-word translating source text. It indicates that there is no effective translation strategy guiding webpage translation, because of which localized web pages of Chinese enterprises do not function effectively.Lastly, specific translation strategies for the content are tentatively proposed to guide the translation practice of localized web pages of Chinese enterprise.
