The teaching of Chinese phonogram should not be only viewed as a part of Chinese characters teaching for foreigners, but also a part of promotion of characters culture. So there is a double meaning in phonogram teaching for foreigners. To make the students abroad form a scientific and systemic study habit, we should let them realize the nature of characters culture, instead of mastering simple writing or memory. A scientific and systemic teaching plan design should pay attention to comprehensive research on aspects of teaching materials, nationality and language level of objects, and it must be put into use after practice in class.The paper has four chapters:ChapterⅠintroduces the meaning of Chinese phonogram teaching, and does an analysis on current situation of research on this field by scholars at home and abroad.ChapterⅡmainly about the questionnaire survey on current situation of Chinese characters learning by students abroad, and does a preliminary analysis on data.ChapterⅢgives detail teaching plan aiming at foreign students from different countries with the same language level.ChapterⅣdoes a conclusion on the actual effect of the teaching plan design.
