Taige Ti was popular in early Ming dynasty, but waned in the middle of Ming dynasty (the age of Cheng Hua and Hong Zhi Emperor). Chinese calligraphy faced an innovation, which leads to coming of retro theme, calligraphers took the style of Wei, Jin and Tang dynasty. Wang Chong, one of'WU MEN SAN JIA', was living in this period and affected by this environment, and by a group of'Wu Men' calligraphers admiring and help, adding his elegant temperament, constantly practising, his calligraphy style had strong personal characteristics, especially his regular script in small characters, which made him having an important status in' Wu Men' factions. This article takes Wang Chong's calligraphy as a case, through simplely expounding 'Taige Ti' and some subjective and objective factors during Wang Chong's calligraphy style's formation, also by analysis and comparison of lots of calligraphy pictures, studying his style and the difference with 'Taige Ti'at that time to do up his special brushwork and font features, to roundly recognize Wang Chong's achievement in regular script in small characters, which helps to modern calligraphy Work with enlightenment and reference.
