In Modern Chinese, separable words are words made by word-formation morphemes which are not combined tightly enough and can be inserted some elements, which is one of the quite disputable phenomenons in Modern Chinese. Verb-object separable words count for ninety percent of all the Chinese separable words, thus this thesis will take it as research object and try to discuss the relation between separable words'separated form and morpheme's nature and semantic.Firstly, on the basis of predecessors'research, this thesis puts forward its own view of separated standard and elaborately summarizes the specific forms and types of separated. Secondly, this thesis studies the nature and semantic of VO separable words'constituent morphemes and chooses the nature and semantic which influences separated type as reference point, through comparative analysis of subclasses with different separated type, to discuss the morpheme semantic which influences different separated type. The analysis results proof that morpheme natures, free or adhesive, independent or dependent, countable or uncountable, abstract or concrete, animate or inanimate, etc. have certain effect on separated type. Lastly, through analysis of separated types'characteristics, this thesis draws conclusion about the pragmatic function of separated type AxB and thoroughly discusses the subjectivity of separated form.
