English has now become a multinational, multicultural, multifunctional and international language. As an important means of communication, language is always in motion, and the contact of different languages causes their variation. English is no longer what it used to be, and the internalization of English brings about the nativization of English around the world. The nativization of English in China has formed a special variety—China English with Chinese characteristics. In view of cultural differences, the inability to translate many ideas and concepts from a source language to a target language is a permanent problem. Unique Chinese words are those lexical words which can reflect Chinese culture, exhibit Chinese connotations and radiate Chinese flavor. Chinese-specific words are unique to the Chinese and nowhere in the world can be found equivalents for such words perfectly. Having no cultural equivalents in the English speaking culture, particular Chinese expressions require a keen cultural awareness and use of appropriate strategies in order to accomplish a satisfactory and accurate translation. Mainly two strategies are used in dealing with the translation in which great differences exist between the source language culture and the target language culture: domestication and foreignization. Which one should be used in Chinese-English translation of unique Chinese expressions is rather a hot. This paper believes that the two translating strategies are not contradictory but complementary. The present paper tries to illustrate status confirmation of China English, gives an overview and manifestation of it from definition, types and features, and makes a comparison between China English and Chinglish, and then discusses the significance of application of China English to external publicity. At last, it gives a sufficient supply of examples of the available effective approaches to translating those unique Chinese expressions in external publicity.
