In recent years, our state attaches great importance to the development of vocational education, proposes to speed up the development of higher vocational education. Premier Wen put forward further that China's vocational education should "develop high-quality skilled personnel". Since 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and 2010 Shanghai World Expo success, we can see that China is now very fast development of tourism, and tourism market is extremely strong. So it will be followed to need a large number of senior tourism management and services personnel. As a college, we should seize this opportunity to develop a tourism master having both strong expertise and English proficiency of high-quality tourism as our responsibilities. This makes the teaching of English for tourism is very important. We must think how to teach a high-quality and highly skilled talents that we need. These are the important problems we need to solve. From the teaching practice, we found that there are many deficiencies and problems in tourism English teaching in the current colleges. So we have the effectiveness of English teaching in L Institute to target to our students so that the students will learn to apply what they have learned. Then the student's employment prospects not only will be excellent, but also it is able to make our expertise remain invincible in the difficult employment situation.In order to adapt to the new situation of tourism on the demand of high-quality talents, I'll analyze tourism English courses to find the problems existing in L Institute and then put forward measures for improvement. I first analyzed tourism English teaching in higher vocational institute, and through questionnaires and interviews to find four problems of tourism English teaching in L Institute---students, teacher, teaching materials and evaluation. And we put forward the following for improvements. First, to develop the realistic curriculum goals, including knowledge, ability. Second, we make teaching materials by ourselves and use a wide range of teaching methods, including the use of scenarios in the classroom teaching, task-based approach and the communicative approach to improve teaching quality. Finally, we abandoned a single written test evaluation, through self-assessment, teacher assessment and evaluation team to complete the assessment of teaching content. It not only greatly improves the enthusiasm of students, but also helps the students to enhance the comprehensive ability.Through new methods of teaching content and teaching improvement and implementation of the new strategy, the enthusiasm of students has been greatly improved. General abilities of the students have improved, and got very good teaching results. However, scheduling of teaching content is still a lack of penetration of western culture. This is not conducive for the students to develop higher levels. In the future, we will improve our teaching level and increase China's traditional culture and traditional festivals and cultural background of English-speaking countries knowledge during the teaching. We will also increase the study of the cultural background so as to achieve the training objectives.
