The Study Of Female Education Thought And Communication During The Reform Movement Of 1898

After Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895, face the deepening national crisis, Wuxu Reformists proposed "develop the female education can revitalize the country", closely linked "develop the female education" with the fate of the nation-state and female's liberation, and actively explored the road of national salvation. They propagated "develop female education" thinking through the press media and articles, and established the first female school of China which was named Chinese Female School, attempt to change the destiny of the nation through those means and promote the development of women's liberation.This article is divided into four parts:Part I:Review the state of female education before before the Reform Movement of 1898 in order to understand the historical background of Wuxu Reformists' "develop the female education" thinking. Briefly introduced the state of female education during ancient China, the state of female education during the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, and the the contribution of Western missionaries and the West women's in China to develop the female education of China.Part II:From two aspects of the reasons of "develop the female education" and how to "develop the female education", to study the"develop the female education" thiking of Wuxu Reformists Kang, Liang, Yan, Tan, etc. And analyze the reasons of "develop the female education" and which measures to be taken.Part III:Analyze Wuxu Reformists'"develop female education" thought from the aspect of newspapers. Taking The Chinese Progress and Xiang Daily in the Reform Movement of 1898 as examples, which were the two largest circulation newspaper, analyze the promotion of the press media to the spread of the "develop the female education" thought.PartⅣ:An briefly introduction to the transform of from thought and speech to social practice in the aspects of Wuxu Reformists'"develop the female education": set up the first female school which was established by Chinese. It was named Chinese Female School. And combed the relationship of Chinese Female School,Female Association and Woman Journal, they promoted each other, helped each other and jointly promoted the spread and development of the thougt of "develop the female education" thought, so that the"develop the female education" thought can enjoy popular support and promoted women's liberation and development.By studying Wuxu Reformists'"develop the female education" thought during the time of the Reform Movement of 1898, we can understand much better about the meaning of the female education in modern China history as a whole, and we can understand more fully about the rich connotation of the Reform Movement of 1898.
