The Implication Of Marcuse's One-dimension Theory On Contemporary Society

As a systematic critical theory of society, Marcuse's One-dimension Theory presents distinct critical and instructional value to the construction of socialist society. One dimensional man" is Marcuse's most famous works in which One-dimension Theory acts as an important part of Marcuse's social criticism theory system consist of political science, philosophy, aesthetics and psychology, as the main view that "one dimensional man" refers to. Marcuse exposed the state of human alienation un the western developed industrial society, putting forward "One-dimension" One-dimension Theory, and pointed out that the contemporary capitalism is "one-way" morbid and abnormal coexistence, considering that the contemporary people in capitalist society have become" One-dimensional man".According to the "One-dimension Theory" in his book, in this thesis all analysis and critique are made. On one hand, focusing on how to see and use technology avoid the errors happened in capitalist society where men became the slaves of technology; on the other hand, similar conditions exist not only in western countries but also in the procession of social market economy in China. Aiming at to goals, this thesis is devoted to use Marcuse's One-dimension Theory with its revelation on the modern society in view of the theory, mainly divided into the following four parts,1) the basic implication of One-dimension Theory; 2)the explanation capacity of One-dimension Theory in contemporary society; 3)the guidance capacity of One-dimension Theory in contemporary social; 4) the vitality of One-dimension Theory in contemporary society.In the first chapter, the basic content and forms are discussed from the analysis of Marcuse' s One-dimension Theory with the main idea that its origin proceed with. "One-dimension "mainly means the way of life can be reconciled against the capacity of the existing system, can assimilate that the dissident developed industrial capitalism brings about a kind of alien life style, i.e. one dimensional makes man progressively loss the capacity of negation, criticism and revolution for the capitalist way of life bondage and slavery again. Moreover, the solo dimensionality is common, not only prevalent in politics, but also in thought, culture and life consumption.In the second chapter, focusing on the interpretation of Marcuse one-way theory, the author points out that the critical exposure of contemporary industrial society maintains and strengthen s the unidirectional ruling secret relying on" technical progress", analyzed the working class changes as well as the reason in capitalist industrial society to reveal the people's real needs in "sick society", reflecting the value of human solicitude.
