The Miao dwelling architecture has a long history, rich and colorful cultural connotation, and high cultural research value and aesthetic value. However, along with the openness up to the outside world continuously and the changes of the times of the traditional Miao society, the total number of Miao dwellings is being faded rapidly from real life.This paper aims to explore and study how to inherit and develop Miao dwellings in the new historical conditions, and find out problems and shortcomings through the research and exploration to such aspects as culture process, structure characteristics, inheritance and development of the Miao dwellings, and propose solutions and suggestions to problems. This paper will make more people understand the Miao dwellings and ask people to apply the Miao dwellings which are the architectural symbols of national characteristics to the modern buildings in order to inherit and develop the Miao dwellings.This paper is divided into four parts:The first part discusses the origin and the overview of culture technology of the Miao dwelling architecture. The second part discusses the development survey of the Dayuan Miao dwelling architecture. This part introduces historical context of the Dayuan Miao dwelling architecture, and then focuses on the analysis of culture application, techniques, artistic eatures, architectural features and comparison of the Dayuan Miao dwelling architectural culture with other areas.The third part discusses the process and structure characteristics of the Dayuan Miao dwelling architectural construction. It is firstly pointed out the problems and solutions of the Dayuan Miao dwelling construction process, and the large garden of Miao nationality's architectural heritage and then some planning measures of inheritance and development of the Dayuan Miao dwelling architecture. The fourth part summarizes the hole paper.
