With the development of Chinese economy and the improvement of international status, more and more foreigners become interested in Chinese culture and begin to learn Chinese. Especially the success of2008Beijing Olympic Games made Chinese language more popular. But international Chinese language teachers are seriously insufficient.Indonesia has most foreign Chinese people, and for some historical reason, Indonesia Chinese people could not learn Chinese there. Now the serious insufficience of Chinese teachers become the most difficult problem in Chinese education development there. In order to settle this problem, China started Indonesian Chinese Teacher Volunteer Program. After eight years of development, the Indonesian Chinese education has made remarkable progress, which is inseparable with the careful teaching and silent dedication of Indonesian Chinese volunteer teachers.I was one of Indonesia Chinese teacher volunteers in2008, and I have always been paying much attention to the Indonesian Chinese Teacher Volunteer Program. For its longer and better developing, I did a research on Indonesian Chinese teacher volunteers from nine aspects:The volunteers'basic situation, occupational attitude, the basic qualities they should possess, main responsibilities, teaching status, life adaptation ability, psychological status, types of difficulties, volunteers'hope and suggestions. I found some problems through analyzing the feedback of Indonesian Chinese teacher volunteers, and I gave suggestions to these Indonesian Chinese teacher volunteers and project management.This paper uses four kinds of research methods:literature research method, questionnaire survey method, interview method, and analysis method. This paper includes four chapters:the first chapter: introduction; the second chapter: Chinese volunteer teachers and Indonesian Chinese education; the third chapter:the Indonesian Chinese teacher volunteers' present situation; the fourth chapter: suggestion to the Chinese teacher volunteers and the program organization management.What deserves to be pointed out is, the paper's analyzing and suggestions are from a real Chinese volunteer teacher's perspective and are closer to those volunteers'practicing. Hope my investigation and research will not only provide experience for the Indonesian Chinese teacher volunteers to work better in the future, but also reference for the Indonesian Chinese Teacher Volunteer Program's better development.
