Lin Yutang Time Adverbs

In Chinese, time-adverb has much more kind than others. Its using situation is comparative complexity, and its pragmatic-frequency is very high. This paper focuses on the time adverbs in FuShengLiuJi.. The paper classifies to the time adverbs in FuShengLiuJi, in order to perform their developments. We try to educe the characteristics of time adverbs in FuShengLiuJi.The whole paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is general introduction which describes selected topic significance, researched survey of time adverbs and language material, ect.Chapter two is a grammatical function analysis. We discuss the general function of the time adverb which is to do adverb modifier and the differences between the time adverb with the time noun.Chapter three and four classify and describe the whole time adverbs in FuShengLiuJi. This part not only defines the appearance time of most words but also learns the development status of every word whether it is still in the modern Chinese.Chapter five describes the two-syllable time adverbs in FuShengLiuJi., analyses the word-building and constitution of it. Meanwhile, we analyses the influence on adverb function of differences in syllable.
