Self-confidence is a multidimensional open system, which means individual's self-confirmation. It is a relatively stable personality trait that individual have positive self-evaluation to their ability and value. Self-confidence is vital to individual's success, and increasing self-confidence is helpful to improve individual's mental health condition. The students in College of Higher Vocational Technology receive higher education, but relative to college students, they have their own special psychological characteristics, they once failed in the university entrance examination, which made them have low self evaluation, and among them female student have worse self evaluation. Meanwhile, with a different education background, they are under more pressure when they are looking for a job. Generally speaking, they have lower self esteem than undergraduate student. In addition, college period is a vital period to individuals' physical and mental development; therefore, it's indispensable to have self-confidence psychological invention to college student. At present, the research object of increasing self-confidence is mainly undergraduate students. Therefore, this research aims to increase female college student's self-confidence through group guidance and individual counseling.Based on certain related documentary literature, this research analyzed all sorts of factors which affect individual's self-confidence, and studied many samples, then worked out a group counseling scheme. It includes eight unites altogether. In the earlier period, the object learnt self-discovery, discover others, changing irrational belief; the goal of the later period was to consolidate the formed rational cognitive model and transfer to daily life. This research surveyed female college students by CHE LIPING's questionnaire and picked20female students by individual interview as the object of group counseling. They were divided into experimental group and control group. Experimental group had group guidance that lasts one month and twice a week as frequency. Meanwhile, control group didn't have any group counseling. Then the two groups had pretest and post-test, and the test results were statistically analyzed, and the object was followed up after three months. After analysis, following points are concluded:(1) This group guidance scheme is of high feasibility and effectiveness.(2) This group guidance is capable of increasing female college students' self-confidence effectively, and it has a long term effect.(3) Individual counseling of this research is helpful for individual to integrate into groups, and increase their self-confidence.(4) The rational-emotive therapy is useful to increasing female college students' self-confidence.
