Based on the theoretical basis of the two major disciplines of pedagogy and psychology,a 12-week cha-cha dance exercise intervention was implemented around female college students who are not majoring in physical education, focusing on the impact of cha-cha dance exercise on female college students' physical self-esteem and self-confidence,as well as the relationship between physical self-esteem and physical self-esteem.Whether there is a correlation between self-confidence.The purpose of the research is to promote the application of Cha-Cha-Cha dance teaching and training in college girls' optional courses,to continuously improve the mental health level of female college students, and to provide theoretical reference for the research on enriching female college students' physical self-esteem and self-confidence levels. This study selected 132 female college students who were not majoring in physical education, including 66 in the experimental group and 66 in the control group. The subjects in the experimental group were subjected to cha-cha dance exercise intervention, while the control group did not participate in systematic physical exercise. The pre-and post-measurement methods were used in the experiment. In the first week of the experiment and 12 weeks after the experiment, the organization filled out a "Physical Self-Esteem Scale" revised by Chinese scholar Xu Xia,and the other was written by American psychologist Rosenberg. The "Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale" tests the physical self-esteem and self-confidence of the experimental group and the control group to observe the specific changes.Research methods include literature research method, experimental method, psychological measurement method and mathematical statistics method. The data were processed by Excel,SPSS21.0,independent sample T test, paired sample T test, repeated measures analysis of variance and other methods. The results of the study showed that the homogeneity of the levels of physical self-esteem and self-confidence of the two groups of subjects was very significant before the start of the experiment. Before and after the experiment, the physical self-worth(P=0.000<0.01),motor skills(P=0.002<0.01),physical condition(P=0.002<0.01),physical fitness(P=0.000<0.01)and total body self-esteem of the experimental group(P=0.000<0.01)showed a significant difference;physical attractiveness(P=0.015<0.05)and self-confidence(P=0.000<0.01)were significantly different before and after the experiment. There was no significant difference in the self-confidence,body self-esteem and total score of female college students in the control group before and after the experiment(P>0.05).From this the following conclusions can be drawn:(1)There was a significant difference in the physical self-esteem of the experimental group before and after the experiment. The increase in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group, that is,cha-cha dance exercise could promote the improvement of female college students' physical self-esteem.(2)There was a significant difference in the self-confidence of the experimental group before and after the experiment. The self-confidence levels of the experimental group and the control group showed an upward trend and a slight downward trend respectively, which is enough to show that the Cha-Cha-Cha dance is beneficial to the improvement of the self-confidence of female college students.(3)Physical self-esteem is significantly correlated with self-confidence,that is,physical self-esteem has a significant positive effect on enhancing self-confidence.(4)Cha-Cha-Cha dance exercise is beneficial to improve the self-confidence of female college students and the level of physical self-esteem of female college students. At the same time,it can also improve the self-confidence of female college students by improving the level of physical self-esteem of female college students.mediating effect on self-confidence.
