The Research On Tanbi Culture And Fujyoshi Group

Tanbi culture, originating in Japan, developed and has become a true meaning of subculture with the networked society in China. It's a solution to some particular situation or special social contradiction by the subordinate group, and is totally attached to the sociopolitical condition. Tanbi is a highly distinctive subculture, which has a unique style, revealing sex characteristics simultaneously. The rise of networked society accelerates the diffusion of Tanbi. Fujyoshi are the subordinate group of Tanbi, who have already formulated specific way of expression and behavior. They have a strong sense of identity by communicating and interacting in the network, and established one semiotic system of their own to separate from others.Against the background of network communication and under the direction of the youth subculture theory of Birmingham School, this research endeavors to make an investigation on Fujyoshi group and the transmission of Tanbi culture in Mainland China, using semi structured interview, participant observation, the fantasy-theme perspective on rhetoric, etc. The paper tries to make observations and interpretations of research objects all sidedly so as to reveal the essential quality and latent significance of them. It falls into three parts excluding the preface, main body and concluding remarks.The preface introduces the current research situation of the topic, the background and significance, the object, the theme and the research technique of this study. The main body is altogether divided into four chapters. The first chapter describes the development of Tanbi and the general picture and structural feature of Fujyoshi group. Chapter Two is use of subcultural style theory for discussing the Tanbi style in detail, on this basis to ferret out the practical significance behind this style. Chapter Three focuses on group interaction and identity-building of Fujyoshi group in the network. Chapter Four makes an assay of game playing between Tanbi culture and dominant culture from macroscopic perspective. Chapter Two and Three are part and parcel of this paper. Finally the thesis reviews the entire paper, gives the conclusions, and tells limitations and farther research proposals about this study.
