A Study On The Export Of Military Technologies From America To Mid-Asian Countries From A Geopolitical Perspective

With the disintegration of the former Soviet Union, the successive independence of its five former Mid-Asian members——Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kirgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan made themselves gradually noticed by the world for their resources and distinctive features. Meanwhile, new geopolitical situations began to take shape.Hegemonism advocated by the United States after the Cold War demonstrates that it has coveted the geopolitically strategic resources of the five countries in the Central Asia for a long time. This thesis is a study on the export of military technologies from America to Mid-Asian countries from a geopolitical perspective.After their independence, Mid-Asian countries lagged behind in each aspect of their development, especially their backward military technologies compared with the former Soviet Union. To get more strategic resources of the five Mid-Asian countries, America, whose military technologies ranks first in the world, offers them with assistance by carrying out joint anti-terrorism manoeuvres, dispatching military talents with professional knowledge and expertise, conducting military visits and on-the-spot investigations, enlarging military bases in the Central Asia, increasing projects of military technological aids.While analyzing the export from America to Mid-Asian countries, this thesis fills in a gap in the study of America's export of military technologies from a geopolitical perspective, thus laying a solid foundation and providing materials for the further researches. Moreover, informed of the true motives behind America's export of military technologies to the five Mid-Asian countries, we will be able to take precautionary measures against this action.
