War ethics includes military ethics, armyman ethics and armament ethics. As a dimension that connects military technology and philosophy, armament ethics have always received wide concern around the international society. Especially since the emergence of nuclear weapons, the ethical argument about them never stops. From whether nuclear weapon can be used to whether it should be proliferated, a specialized field in armament ethics– nuclear ethics has formed. With the proposal of Obama's"nuclear weapon-free world", the issue of nuclear proliferation and nuclear disarmament again draw great attention around the world. The main problem this thesis intends to solve is how to consider and evaluate the intricate and complex phenomenon of nuclear proliferation from an ethical point of view, by considering the historical evolution of nuclear proliferation, and adopting the methods of case analysis and logic analysis. The author holds that nuclear proliferation is hard to be stopped, not only because the obsession of the nuclear bomb, but also the bad influence of America's nuclear policy. Except for those realistic obstacles, nuclear proliferation has its own ethical contradictions: between the lateral and longitudinal proliferation; among personal justice, nation justice and human justice; and between the proliferation of nuclear weapons and nuclear technology. In hope of solving all these contradictions, we need to put human justice in the first place, and make the basic principles of nuclear ethics become the common view among nations. With the leading of the nuclear powers and the active involvement of every nation around the world, we can strive together for our common goal–"a nuclear weapon-free world". |
