Since became a municipality, Chong Qing government has issued a series of policy about the peasant workers to find a breakthrough in solving the problem of peasant workers, which indicates that the peasant workers is still an important problem needed to be solved under the new situation. The number of resident population in Chong Qing is 28.59 million. There are 7 million peasant workers of which more than 50% come from rural areas of Chong Qing. The new generation of peasant workers is added to the group of peasant workers, stepping by the first generation of peasant workers return home. The new generation of peasant workers hold the majority of migrant and have characteristics of second generation immigrants. What the new generation of peasant workers want from the city is not just a job but the equal rights and interests the same as the city resident. Therefore, promoting to transform the new generation of peasant workers to city resident is a stick point to solve the peasant workers problem which is main content of the citizenization of the peasant workers. This paper is divided into six chapters. Chapter 1 summarizes the background, significance, the basic framework and innovation of papers. Chapter 2 combs the literature both domestic and foreign about the subject. Chapter 3 describes the theory related to the citizenization of the peasant workers and provides the oretical support for the following study. Chapter 4 reveals the development, realistic approach, current characteristics and problems of existence under the background of economic and social context in transition of the citizenization of the new generation of peasant workers in Chong Qing. Based on research above, Chapter 5 selects the four factors: individual characteristics, economic, institutional and social which are used to analyze the impact of four factors affect on the level of the citizenization of the new generation of peasant workers in Chong Qing City. Chapter 6 tries to raise the thoughts and countermeasures of promoting the citizenization of the new generation of peasant workers in Chong Qing on the basis of these studies. The main conclusions of this paper include four points. First, the new generation of peasant workers'will quite fuzzy in Chong Qing. Second, the citizenization of the new generation of peasant workers has low capacity in Chong Qing. Third, the process of the new generation of peasant workers is in the middle stage in Chong Qing, and that economic factor has a significant influence on the new generation of peasant workers while institutional factor is weakening. It is a new subject to research the citizenization of the new generation of peasant workers in Chong Qing. The innovation of this paper reflects three points. First, this study combines the field research in Chong Qing. What's more, I get a large number of data that can't be obtained from the available literature which makes the essay more convincing. Second, this paper takes multiple linear regression models to analyze the significance degree of the various factors on the new generation of peasant workers'will in the empirical research. Third, the method of this paper used is a multidisciplinary approach to reflect the comprehensive problems in the process of the new generation of peasant workers and then make corresponding proposal in this study. In the process of writing, I try my best. But the paper is still not so perfect. For example, the estimates of psychological factors of people are not so exactly in analyzing the new generation of peasant workers. Besides, a number of proposals are too idealistic lacking of practical in the paper. The shortcomings above need to be improved by later research.
