Food safety issue has been a serious social problem faced with China. It is the government who should be the key part to solve this. This article focuses on discussion about China's food safety supervision from the angle of the supervision model. It is divided into five chapters:firstly, it illustrates the basic concepts, characteristics, categories, and significances of current food safety issue. Secondly, it described the theoretical grounds of governmental supervision on food safety, and raises the relationship between market failure and government regulation. It mainly demonstrates the asymmetric information theory, market economy externality theory and public goods theory, and first put forward the government regulation on market failure. Thirdly, it described the China's current food safety legal system and the development of government supervision, and raised the reflection of situations now. Fourthly, it recitals foreign food safety legal systems and puts forward the benefits of learning from these experience upon the comparison between our nation and other states. Lastly, it raised its thinking of analyzing approaches to perfecting food safety legal system and the model of comprehensive supervision.
