After more than30years of reform and opening up in China, economic transition has brought tremendous changes to China's social structure and social organization. Evident social conflicts and serious social problems indicate that China is badly in need of strengthening social management. China holds theory system of socialism with its own characteristics, which inevitably demands China to be equipped with social management methods of its own characteristic. Only Chinese social management is suitable for China itself. Chinese social management is put forward under such background that it is a new topic which is produced by the Communist Party of China who leads the people of all nationalities throughout the exploration and practice of reform and opening up during the constantly further understanding for:"what is socialism and how it to be build". The paper starts with the concept of social management, absorbs Western ideas of social management, briefly reviews the experience and history of Chinese social management, and analyzes real changes of Chinese society, then gets a conclusion that Chinese social management framework must be strengthened and explored.
