Content:After implementation of the Full-time Ordinary High school Geography Curriculum Standard (Experiment), a series of new stipulations, that taking student's development as a basis, taking the education for all-around development theory as the instruction, emphasizing student's independent and teacher's leading, and paying great attention to teaching's validity and the unity of teaching and learning, cause the geography education in the education idea, the teaching method the appraisal system and other aspects facing the significant transformation.This paper is mainly from two aspects, theoretical analysis and empirical study, to prove the feasibility and the validity of geography variant teaching. Theoretically, based on the unify of the current high school curriculum reform and the teaching practice, the author explored theory of education and instruction, proposed the geography variant teaching strategy, analyzed the significance of developing geography variant teaching in raising the student ability, improving the quality of teaching, realizing the geography teacher specialization development, realizing the new curriculum idea and so on, and established the pointed, foundational, idealistic, independent implementation principle of geography variant teaching to provide the clear theory frame for the next step practice research. In the practice research aspect, the author summarized the application methods of geography variant teaching strategy in the classroom instruction in detail, which includes:The new class inducting, concept teaching, map teaching, geography thing expression form, geography principle rule teaching, exercise teaching, work teaching and review teaching. After the author's one year variant teaching practice in Heilongjiang Daqing 28th middle school, the students' result qualified rate and outstanding rate have enhanced greatly, which fully confirmed the feasibility and the validity of geography variant teaching strategy.The conclusion part is an exploring achievement. As a result of the limitation of the author's knowledge and the field of vision, some judgments also need to further study and discuss, I sincerely hope that the deficiency of this paper would be corrected and atoned by the later researches.
