Purpose: In recent years, with the prevailing application of periodization training theory in the training of athletes, people have been focusing on technical and tactical training in the development of college tennis, and at the same time, means and methods of training have also been studied. To explore whether the non-linear periodization strength training can be applied in basic tennis training, this thesis have made different strength training plans in reference to different strength training modes and have had these plans applied in the strength training of designated college tennis students. By judging whether different modes of strength training can produce different training effects, this thesis have demonstrated the most effective training modes which are most suitable for the strength development of designated college tennis students in training and education, thus providing some practical and theoretical references for college tennis teaching and training.Methods: In this study, as the experimental subjects, 28 designated college tennis boys have been tested for their maximum levels of strength, speed strength and strength endurance before the experiment, after the test they were randomly divided into 3 groups and trained correspondingly under the non-linear periodization strength training model, the linear periodization strength training stage model and the traditional non-periodization strength training model according to each group's training plan. After 16 weeks of strength training, the author of this thesis have repeated the test that have been taken before the experiment,and demonstrated different effects of three models by observing the change of the test results.Conclusions:1, After 16 weeks of periodization strength training, the strength test result of designated college tennis students indicates that the non-liner periodization strength training is more effective.2, In many aspects, there is still a big gap between the strength training for designated college students and that of professional tennis players. But after 16 week-training under the non-linear periodization strength training model, the capability in all aspects of experimental subjects'have been improved to varying degrees, we may reach the conclusion that strength training under non-linear periodization model is effective and suitable for the training of designate college tennis students. 3, In respect of training mode, in order to enable designate college tennis students achieving their possible best performance in future training and competitions, we should build a model which can transfer general strength training into special strength training and can regulate strength training method, strength training measure, training load system and the division of training phase, making all these aspects independent while in relation with each other. Such establishment of strength training model specifically for college tennis is, nonlinear periodization strength training model.4, This experimental study on the strength training model of designated college tennis student demonstrated the applicability nonlinear periodization strength training in college tennis strength training.
