Since reform and opening up in our country, there were a large number of migrant workers emerged in the rapid industrialization and urbanization process. Migrant workers are the formation of special groups in China's economic system transformation and social transformation. In 2009, the country reached a total of 230 million migrant workers, including out of 1.5 million migrant workers worked outside of hometown. However, due to our long-standing urban-rural dual structure system and the impact of household registration system, migrant workers can not enjoy the same treatment as urban residents. Many migrant workers can not be at the stage of compulsory education to school children of urban life to the workers can only stay in their rural home, which led to massive rural children left behind. At present, there are about 58 million rural children left behind, most of who are in compulsory education. Due to the long separation of state in the parent-child, there are many problems of these rural children left behind in the family education, school education, social education and their own mental health, education of rural children left behind is worrying. Education of rural children left behind is a major social problem, which is the conbined result of social, family, school and children left to its own characteristics and other factors. To solve this problem relates to the sustainable development of rural economy and society, relationship to the whole social harmony and stability.Based on the children left behind in some rural areas of Hunan Province in depth research, the article has found out the basic situation and education about rural children left behind from several aspects, and summarized the basic characteristics of them. The article has analyzed the reason resulted the education problem about children left behind in rural areas from the social environment, within the family environment, school education enviroment and characteristics of themselves. The article has provided suggestions to solve the problem from various aspects as the basis for the relevant government departments to make objective and scientific decision. And the article has also pointed out that to find the solution about the education problem of rural children left behind will not be achieved overnight. To solve the problem needs to put social forces together and make them work together and unremitting efforts.
