The Study On Occupation Commitment Of College Counselors In Hunan Province

Occupational commitment is an important frontier of Organizational Behavior professional commitment and occupational psychology research, is also another focus following the organizational commitment research. The college counselor is an important component of college teacher, is part of the Ideological and Political Education in Universities, is the college students' mentor and guide in their healthy growth. Occupational commitment of college counselors to stabilize the college counselors has important practical significance.The purpose of this study was to determine the structure of college counselors Occupational commitment, Occupational commitment scale preparation of college counselors, college counselors understand the Occupational commitment of Hunan Province, and to analyze the structure of occupational commitment and organizational relations. In this paper, the literature, interviews, questionnaires, observation, case studies and other research methods, and software for data with SPSS 11.5 item analysis, exploratory factor analysis, T test, correlation analysis, regression analysis.The study draws the following conclusion:First, the occupational commitment of College counselors includes four dimensions: normative commitment, ideal commitment, emotional commitment and continuance commitment.Second, the whole level of college counselors'occupational commitment in Hunan province is in the medium. Seeing from each dimension, the score of normative commitment is higher, ideal commitment and affective commitment follows, and continuance commitment is lowest on score.Third, the demographic variables of college counselors in Hunan province have a certain degree of influence on its occupational commitment. Using variance analysis and t-test show that college counselors which have different sex, age, civil state, working life, educational degree, site of school, and school types in occupational commitment and in its several or one dimension.Fourth, organizational structure is significantly correlated with occupational commitment. Furthermore, seeing from a single dimension of organizational structure, except centralization is only negatively related to emotional commitment, participation and formalization are significantly positively related to occupational commitment and its each dimension.
