The role and impact on information, not only due to its technical characteristics of continuous progress and improvement, more importantly, due to its social attributes derived continuously, such as a network of global, interactive, internet independent, strong timeliness, disorder, and so on.Then the article presents and analyzes the characteristics of college students, the needs of network information, the content and status of the information power of college students. What is more, they have the urgent needs of social integration and perception, as well as on the high-interpersonal demands. They want to get effective information from the network and keen to realize personal values from the network. Based on the characteristics and needs of present college students, the author believes the information power of college students should include such aspects: Information Awareness, Information Competence, Information Morality. Based on its intension, this article also analyzes the present of college students' information power. With the popularization of the knowledge of network technology at college, college students generally have a certain amount of information capacity and quality, but its overall performance is still not satisfactory, the need to strengthen its guidance and training is also necessary.The next the author emphatically analyzes the impact of development of network technology on college students' information power. Information power is an important force for college students to survive and develop on the network environment at present and in the future. The development of network technology, when it refers to the information power of college students, is also a double-edged sword. Firstly, the network tech is a power to make the change of college students' information concepts, for example, it makes students acutely aware of the importance of information, and gradually forms the information value concepts in the era of network.
