A Research On Wenzhou Higher Vocational Education Based On Regional Economic Development

In the 11th five-year planning period (2006-2010), Wenzhou municipal government and party committee have had efforts to promote the construction of "energetic Wenzhou", "powerful Wenzhou" and "harmonious Wenzhou", implemented industrial updated program, upgraded its leading edge of light industry and constructed private economic and technological industrial base so as to achieve the third breakthrough of Wenzhou. Regional economic development and upgrading of industrial structure needs the support from a large number of high-quality and high-skilled talents. It is predicted from Talent Development Service Center of Wenzhou that there is a large demand of about 100,000 highly-skilled talents per year in dominant industries such as light industry, modern manufacturing and services in Wenzhou. The rapid development of society has formed a forced mechanism on vocational education. Wenzhou municipal government and party committee attach greater importance to vocational and technical education.In the 11th five-year planning period, Wenzhou City has been employment-oriented and promoted the reform and development of vocational education, expanded the educational scale further and improved specialty structure and enhanced the service economy and society obviously. But generally speaking, higher vocational education in Wenzhou is still weak in education, educational mechanism and the size, structure and quality of talents training still can not meet the needs of economic and social development of Wenzhou. It has become a new subject of the reform and development of higher vocational education of Wenzhou how to make the goal, size and structure of higher vocational education, innovate the mode of talen training, and strive to cultivate high-quality skilled talents with innovative quality and entrepreneurship to adapt to the sound and rapid economic growth of Wenzhou regional economy.Therefore, it has become an important issue to further investigate Wenzhou history and current situation of the development of higher vocational education and explore the need of Wenzhou's higher vocational education law to adapt to its regional economic development as to achieve further development f vocational education in Wenzhou. How higher vocational colleges have all-round cooperation with industry companies and enterprises in the private economy environment; how higher vocational colleges integrate Wenzhou spirit into the professional quality of vocational education system; and how higher vocational colleges must have its features in education in active private economy environment. Finally, this thesis proposes some appropriate measures to the above.
