To promote the teaching quality, of exam-oriented or quality-oriented education, is to promote teachers' expertise and experience. Every age has its own paragon of teacher. So what at our age is the paragon of teacher? Undoubtedly, we think first the supreme teachers. Form the developmental stage of teacher's specialization, supreme teacher is on the highest stage of teacher profession in our country, the paragon and aim for those who are not supreme teacher. Maximizing the valuable human resources of supreme teachers and promoting their leading influence on the primary education and other teachers are effective ways to promote primary education as well as the responsibility and duty of supreme teachers. The Chinese language is a basic subject of the curriculum in middle school and the teachers of it are of great importance and status. As a result, the study of Chinese supreme teachers makes sense for the growing young Chinese teacher as well as society.A British man Ivan. When study teacher, we should listen to their voices and pay attention to their work and lives. Teachers' stories are mirrors and windows through which we can see the road of teachers' growth and understand what teaching experiences are helpful and take inspiration from them. So this research are mainly a qualitative study, using specifically narrative research approach which enable the teachers to express themselves as much as they can and reflect their own experiences. Narrative research require the researchers to experience themselves and think and learn while doing, which is different from traditional research which is based mainly on the rational analysis and conducted usually in library. In a narrative research, teachers and researchers are listener and speaker to each other and their resonance make them known form the bottom of heart and make sense the fact happened in educational circle. This paper is based on the study of teacher Liu, a Chinese teacher selected from a middle school in Guangxi. We step into his real life by intimate talking and his real class by observing. Through others' insight we reconstruct a real study object. Through the detailed description of the actual life experience and educating and teaching stories of Liu, we then explore and analyze the theory of how the study object transform himself from a ordinary Chinese teacher into a idealistic one.Based on the summary of existing theory pertaining to teachers'professional development, and massive interview and material collecting, this study presents clearly in a narrative way a life story of teacher Liu, a native middle school Chinese teacher. The narration is completed and coherent and the readability has been increased because it is told in the first person. The study has found that change occurred due basically to internal causes and it is affected by external causes. The growth of teacher'specialty is a course involves the interaction between internal causes (sense of happiness toward teaching profession, strong awareness of self-development, ability to regulate and control oneself, profound knowledge, attention to self-reflection and summary) and external causes (big environment like society and small environment like family and school), and it is a dynamic course in which all elements are actively responded to and they interplay one another repeatedly. Excellent teachers not only passively affected by outside environment, but also give actively play to their subjective initiative and through their own effort, they finally succeed in reconstructing the environment. Under the special social background and the influence of personal quality, the supreme teacher fulfill their own growth of specialty during the course of interaction with the people and events around them. Meanwhile, the key events and people, provide teacher with different alternatives for their development, becoming the lifetime opportunity for the professional growth of teachers. As an individual, different periods of teachers'growth of specialty have their own characteristics, so it is vital to utilize the critical period of personal growth. Every excellent teacher has a set of structure of knowledge of his own, and the self-construction of professional knowledge is conducive to excellent teaching. The teaching experiences and knowledge of excellent teachers have been stamped with personal brand. This paper takes the teacher's growth as a comprehensive and systematic result, instead of a trend from practice to reflection. It is a rare case study of supreme Chinese teacher, which will enrich the research in this area.From these analysis and exploration shown above, it is typical and representative to the professional growth of this particular supreme teacher. But this research is no more than a case study having no intention to advance any theory by down-to-top approaches or formulate any educational rule which are valid commonly; instead we pay attention to the value of experience. This paper respects the individual's life meaning and pay attention to his specialty but not the state of balance. The value of the study of small sample doesn't lie in its publicity but the influence on readers. Only if they can appreciate it with the way as we do can we share the feeling of each other. The content that move and benefit readers can serve as a beacon illuminating others and oneself is the value of this study. Brookfield said:"the most influential bibliographies are those materials based on autobiography and analysis according to some theories" I don't expect such a great impact can be produced in my study, but I have a wish that this study can have a positive role in promoting the practical teachers'growth of specialty and in their reflection they can see themselves and their future. |
