The way of China's floating population turned from the previous "single out" to "family migration". By the trend of the rapidly growing school-age children flowing into the cities with the parents, the migrant children's compulsory education has aroused widespread concern. In the efforts of the government and the community of scholars, nowadays many migrant children can go to the public school, but few scholars pay attention to these children studying in public schools. After I visited a public school that admits migrant children, I found though these migrant children studied in public schools, but their academic achievements are not satisfactory. In order to find the deep influences of the academic achievements of the floating children, I went to the school every Thursday in order to observe the interaction between the migrant children and teachers, the interaction between the migrant children, the school teaching conditions and school peripheral environment. I also went to the home of the migrant children each month to do free tutor, which is in order to observe the interaction between these children and their parents and their living conditions.This paper is mainly divided into four parts. In the first part, the research significance of this article is presented first. Then on the basis of the literature review I posed the research methods, including research orientation and research limitations. The second part describes the floating children's study present situation, including school conditions, teachers' interviews and exam results of the migrant children. The third part thoroughly analyzes the four reasons for why the academic achievements of the migrant children are not ideal. The four reasons are individuals, families, schools and the society. The fourth part raises the suggestions of how to improve academic performance of migrant children from the aspects of family, school and the society.We should not only ensure the starting point of education fair, also have to guarantee the education process and the result fair. As a special group in the city, we should give support, concern and help to the growth of the migrant children. The growth of the migrant children's academic achievements needs the efforts of the whole society and the reciprocal social support from the society, family and school.
