The motive of success is used to measure the intensity of motivation in the pursuit of success.Academic engagement is an important criterion to observe the process of learning.Behavioral inhibition/activation system is the mechanism to control emotion and behavior.Previous studies have explored the relationship between learning motivation and academic engagement in high school students,but it has not been confirmed in migrant children.Migrant children are in a critical period of physical and mental development period,their level of engagement will effect the academic achievement.Through the mediating effect of behavioral inhibition/activation system,this paper explore the relationship between learning achievement motivation and academic engagement.Overviews the concept,measurement tool and Behavioral Inhibition/Activation Systems,uses MAAT,UWES-S and BIS/BAS measure the level of learning achievement motivation,academic engagement and Behavioral Inhibition/Activation Systems among 461 employees of elementary school,Examines the relationship between learning achievement motivation,academic engagement and Behavioral Inhibition/Activation Systems of migrant children,the result shows that:(1)Migrant children's learning achievement motivation and academic engagement are no significant different in gender and grade;migrant children's Behavioral Inhibition Systems is significant different in gender but no significant different in grade;migrant children's Behavioral Activation Systems is no significant different in gender and grade.(2)In comparison with urban children,migrant children and urban children had no significant difference in learning achievement motivation,academic engagement,and Behavioral Inhibition/Activation Systems.(3)Migrant children's learning achievement motivation is significantly and positively correlated to the two dimensions of academic engagement:vigor and dedication.(4)Migrant children's learning achievement motivation is significantly and positively correlated to the three dimensions of Behavioral Activation Systems:fun seeking,reward responsiveness,and drive.(5)Migrant children's academic engagement is significantly and positively correlated to Behavioral Inhibition Systems and dedication dimension of Behavioral Activation Systems.Dedication dimension is significantly and positively correlated to Behavioral Inhibition Systems and reward responsiveness dimension of Behavioral Activation Systems.(6)Reward responsiveness has partial mediating effects between Learning achievement motivation and dedication.The conclusion were as follow:(1)the learning achievement motivation can positively predict academic engagement.(2)Reward responsiveness mediated the effect of learning achievement motivation on dedication.(3)Migrant children's academic engagement is significantly and positively correlated to Behavioral Inhibition Systems and dedication dimension of Behavioral Activation Systems.Dedication dimension is significantly and positively correlated to Behavioral Inhibition Systems and reward responsiveness dimension of Behavioral Activation Systems.(4)Migrant children's achievement motivation can positively predicted students' engagement.(5)Reward responsiveness has partial mediating effects between Learning achievement motivation and dedication.
