The Investigation And Survey Of Students' Style Of Study Of Private Colleges In Jiangxi Province

College students'style of study is the sum of behavior characteristics and mental outlook presented in their education. It is a kind of reflection of their ideal, ambition and pursiut in study and is also a kind of behavioural habits, which contains learning attitude, learning target, learning method, learning interest, learning discipline and learning atmosphere concretely. This paper was taking Jianxi S institute as the study inllustration and investigated the problem of students'style of study of private colleges in Jianxi by means of home-made quastionnare for practical investigation, union of quantitative study and qualitative study, which placed an extra emphasis on the former. As a whole students'style of study of Jianxi S institute has a long way to go compared with the average of public universities, especially in learning consciousness, learning effort degree, classroom attendence, learning planning and so on. But Jianxi S institute has their own characteristics in students'style of study: Learning goals for occupation is more unambiguous; Academic motivation is more utilitarian; Learnig effort degree in students who have strong learning desires is higher than public university students'. Boys are doing less well in learning attitude, learning discipline, extracurricular reading, exam performance and so on compared with these of girls in the mass. Boys are being more independent when deal with learning difficulties, while girls are more serious-minded when finish learning tasks. Freshman has the worst performance in learning activeness, learning planing, and junior does the best in extracurricular learning. Juniors'learning interest is abviously more intense than seniors', so does in learning discipline; while junior's learning willpower is stronger than that of freshman and sophomore. Sophomore is the differentiation period in college. College students'style of learning in specialty is not remarkable. In this empirical research, I discoved that college students'acknowledge of the influences that family and society played on learning and their degree of satisfaction for college's academic environment have a clear-cut correlation with college students'style of study. At the end, through analyzing development schem for style of study of Jianxi S institute, I present several pieces of suggestion for building style of study based on conclusion resulted from investigation and interviews for college students.
