Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi (Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi,1746-1827) is a Swiss famous educationalist in the 19th century. In world history, he is a very impressive educator, dedicated to the poor children's education and national education. Family education is an important part of his entire educational system. His family education thought contains rich content. By reviewing and interpreting Pestalozzi family education thought, this thesis presents basic structure and developmental law of his family education thought, and highlights his contribution and position in the education history, and learns from these experiences in it to use for reference of problems of family education of our country.The thesis is composed of five parts:the first part is the introduction, and mainly to clarify the origin and significance of the thesis. Through the analysis of data and sorting drawn about this topic research status and trends, and the structure and research methods of the thesis. The first chapter discusses the social background and the education condition of Europe and Switzerland in 18th and 19th century, and the impact of family factors Pestalozzi on his family education thought. At the same time, religion, human nature and philosophy of Pestalozzi provided a theoretical basis for his family education thought. The second chapter analyses and explains family education thought of Pestalozzi systematically:firstly, From Pestalozzi'educational writings and his educational activities, summed up the development and change of his family education thought; secondly, from the family environment and parental view, stressed the significance of family education; thirdly, summarizes the main principles of family education, they are educational principle of love, principles of moral and religious education, the principle of harmonious education and life education principles; finally, from the three aspects of the moral education, intelligence education and labor education, mainly with " Lienhard and Gertrud", the thesis discusses specific content and methods of Pestalozzi'family education. The third chapter discusses the historical contributions and contemporary values in the basis of the first two chapters. In the end of the thesis, I discuss the times characteristics, the influence to the contemporary social and limitations of the Pestalozzi'family education thought.
