Empowerment: Study On The Community Support For Employment Of Landless-farmers

In recent years, as China's urbanization and modernization continue to extent, China's urban scale is expanding rapidly. Rural collective land, especially a lot of Suburban farmers'land is expropriated. As a result, a large number of landless peasants begin to emerge, and have to confront with challenge in employment patterns and lifestyle. Nevertheless, the re-employment and re-housing problem of landless peasants is increasingly serious. Due to institutional factors and farmers themselves, they have become an enormous impact on China's politics, economy and society. How to ensure that landless peasants are not unemployment has become a problem which needs to be solved in the process of urbanization.At the same time, as a focus of government work, community building has formed a good momentum of development. Community is not only a living community, but also the most important urban source of social support. Not only has the significance of space, more emotional significance. As one of the ultimate goal of social support work, community is the best place to resolve personal difficulties and problems. All kinds of resources for social support in the community can let the landless peasants enjoy a more direct and more efficient service, increased the sense of community of landless peasants and the emotional connection, so as to promote landless peasants self-help and mutual help. Therefore, in the process of village rescission and communities establishment, as a grassroots social organization, community should actively take on the social support and protection of landless peasants. Then, communities play what kind of role in the employment? It is theoretically important and with practical significance to analyze this question and to inspect realistically.Because of the aforementioned issues, reviewing and summarizing the social support, empowerment theory and the existing research related to landless peasants, this study try to explore ways and measures of employment issues, by taking a field survey, analysis and research on a landless peasants gathering area --H community in Nantong City.This dissertation proposes to construct a community support system for the employment of suburban landless peasants, that is, to fully mobilize all social forces, to improve the employment service system for suburban farmers, which make some useful exploration to solve the problem of suburban farmers employment, thereby,to promote their better and faster integration into the city, and become urban inhabitants eventually.
