The thesis has studied work stress, job burnout and personality trend of the primary and middle school teachers in Ganzhou with methods of both questionnaire and interview. The research tools consist of the Work-Pressure Questionnaires, the Teacher Burnout Inventory, the Scales of Cole Self-evaluation and the Self-edited outline for interview. With a method of cluster random sampling, we distributed 1500 questionnaires, and at last retrieved 1096 of them. In addition, 41 teachers are interviewed by random. The purpose of the study is to better understand the teachers'psychological states, to study the relationship among work stress, job burnout and personality trend, and to provide scientific proof to improve primary and middle school teachers'professional state and to formulate their health protection measures and training materials.The study result says, the work stress of the primary and middle school teachers in Ganzhou ranks the medium level, which mainly comes from society, students, and educational reform. About 40% of the teachers have the obvious feelings of job burnouts, which is characterized as emotional exhaustion and lack of the sense of accomplishment. Gender, marital status, age, educational background and professional title exert different influence on the core self-evaluation. The differences between work stress and job burnout on the highest award level reflects the"plateau"of teachers'development stage. The personality has influence on the job burnouts and the work stress and job burnout are the results of the teachers'recognition to their career interacting with their job ability.Based on the results, we have four suggestions for the administrative department on education: a. improve the single-dimension evaluation mechanism, enhance the training of procedural and strategic knowledge in teachers'controlling teaching process, and add psychological health knowledge and skill training to the training plan; b. leave more space for teachers in decision making in teaching; c. closer cooperation among teachers, appropriately promote competition, and provides social support for them; d. add personality testing to the teacher selection mechanism, and foster teachers'positive attitude.
