Status Quo And Problems Of Safety Education In Primary And Secondary Schools For Study

For growing children, safety is the best and most valuable thing. To make sure that children and adolescents grow healthily is of great significance. Since the founding of People's Republic of China, especially the Reform and Opening-up policy, Our Party and government have attached great importance to the safety of primary and secondary education and issued a series of policies and regulations on safety education. For example:in 2002 the "Student Injury Treatment", in 2007 the "Protection of Minors Act," in 2007 the "Guidelines for primary and secondary education in public safety", These policies and regulations effectively safeguarded the security of the school and promoted the development of safety education. However there remains a serious problem on school safety, Accidents occur frequently on campus. According to the analysis of various types of security incidents occurred in schools, there are many reasons, one very important reason is that some schools lack the necessary security awareness and ability of safety education. The situation is not optimistic.This essay aims to study the present situation and problems of primary and secondary safety education and to analyze the causes of these problems and then to provide some practical countermeasures and suggestions to solve the problems. In order to know the exact situation of safety education in primary and secondary school, I did a research in District J in Chaohu City, Anhui Province, founding that a series of measures have been taken to make safety education go into schools, classrooms. The safety education has made some progress. Its main problems are:the form of safety education is protruding, causing safety education a "safety management"; safety education method is relatively simple and safety education resources are limited.In view of the problems existing in safety education, this paper explores the causes of these problems and finds that the main problems are:safety education is examination-oriented, this results in the peripheral position of safety education. Safety education policies and regulations are not properly carried out; a serious shortage of investment in education. To solve the problems, this essay proposes the following suggestions and countermeasures; change the concept of exam-oriented education, create a safe campus atmosphere; set national safety education program; formulate "Campus Security Act" as soon as possible; increase policy enforcement; strengthen policy implementation and supervision.
